Does stress trigger herpes?
Posted on | August 27, 2007 | 1 Comment
It is believed that both physical and emotional stress can trigger an outbreak of Genital herpes in some people. Stress is known to compromise your immune system which in turn places you at risk of an outbreak.
Getting proper rest, exercising regularly and eating well are all great ways to reduce stress and strengthen your immune system.
Injuries to the face, lips, eyes or mouth, as through trauma, surgery, or sunburns are well established triggers of recurrent oral herpes due to Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV-1).
